Anger counselling

Our therapists are trained to work with individuals who have concerns about their behaviours or feelings related to irritability and anger. Anger is a secondary emotion which means the emotion of anger is fuelled by other emotions such as fear, sadness, or grief. At times it may be easier to express anger than expressing emotional pain. However, expression of anger can cause negative consequences in an individuals life such as relationship breakdown or social isolation. You will be invited to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours that might be fuelling anger thoughts and responses. Using a cognitive behavioural approach (CBT), you will learn effective communication styles, develop and enhance positive communication skills and learn to express anger in effective ways. Anger counselling can be done with an individual therapist or in group format. If you are interested in participating in a group, please e-mail us. 
***Please note that the anger counselling offered at NuHealing Therapy & Wellness are for individuals who are NOT mandated by the court system to attend anger counselling. Those who have been mandated by the court system, please speak with your treatment team or legal representative as there may be specific programs available to you.***
