The Journey of Calm – Living your presence

What is the group and what will I learn?
This in-person, 4-week group is for individuals whose goal is to reduce/minimize stress in their day to day lives. This group is informed by, and with adaptations, from the mindfulness based stress reduction principles. Each weekly session offers a brief introduction of a topic, followed by a mindful exercise. This group is intended to create space in your week to practice mindfulness in a group setting.
Over the four weeks you will learn:
Week 1 – The stress response with introduction to mindfulness. Mindfulness exercise: body scan.
Week 2 – Being present with introduction of attitudes related to mindfulness. Mindfulness exercise: Observing.
Week 3 – Practicing with non-judgment, patience, and self-compassion. You will learn strategies for responding to stressors. Mindfulness exercise: Connecting state of mind with state of body.
Week 4 – Attentional and intentional focus, paying attention to what you take in from your environment. Mindfulness exercise: Sitting meditation.
 
Dates and times:
The group will be 4-weekly sessions, with each session 90 minutes in length. Please contact the center to find out when the next group will run.
 
Cost:
$350.00 – with amount due in full when registering.

Please note, if you have insurance, employee benefits, or other coverage, it is your responsibility to confirm coverage before registering for the group. An invoice will be provided of which you can submit for reimbursement from your provider.
